The Blockchain Center Abu Dhabi (ADBC) has been named among the inaugural members of the Blockchain Advisory Group (BAG), launched by the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) on June 3, 2026, in Paris during Proof of Talk 2026. The group brings together senior leaders from across the blockchain ecosystem to explore how the technology can help address development challenges, support digital public infrastructure, and strengthen public systems.
ADBC joins 25 other organizations spanning foundations, research bodies, and industry leaders. Chaired by UNDP Associate Administrator Haoliang Xu, the group's inaugural meeting focused on financial inclusion and digital finance, examining how blockchain can complement existing infrastructure to expand access, improve efficiency, and strengthen transparency.
"Being part of UNDP's Blockchain Advisory Group reflects Abu Dhabi's commitment to advancing blockchain in service of the public good. We look forward to contributing our regulatory and institutional expertise to a global agenda focused on real development outcomes," said Abdulla Al Dhaheri, CEO at The Blockchain Center Abu Dhabi.
The Advisory Group will convene twice annually, with each session focused on a distinct development priority: public trust and digital governance; inclusive society and legal identity; financial inclusion and digital financial services; sustainability and trackable responsibility; and the future of work. ADBC will participate alongside fellow members to move from dialogue toward concrete collaboration.
